WHY A MISSION?

Perhaps the best way to understand my personal reasons for serving a mission are found in a special project called "I'M A MORMON", which I completed in 2010. The information has now been updated to include our call to serve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa Mission.  To go to that page, click HERE

The reason I was first interested in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was because, when I heard the missionaries, it began to make sense and I wondered if it might be true.  The reason I was baptized as a member of the Church is because, at some point, after reading the Book of Mormon and praying sincerely about it, I knew that it was true... and if the book was true, than Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and this was the true Church. I also realized that, having been blessed with this God-given knowledge, I had a divinely appointed responsibility to then teach my children.  That stewardship explained:  (The Family: A Proclamation to the World).

A Ford Motor Company interfaith newsletter has lots of interesting facts about the Church.  Click  HERE

The Pew Research Center's "Forum on Religion & Public Life" conducted a very extensive survey about members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons).  To see their findings, click HERE

An interesting read about Mormons in Africa & some of the water projects which we have shown on the blog.  Imagine how much clean water has blessed the lives of people in Africa. Click HERE

Having been guilty of negative "self-talk" more often than I like to admit, this blog from a young LDS mother was very comforting and would probably help many LDS moms who think they are supposed to be "perfect".   "DROPS OF AWESOME"
